Toma de electrocardiograma experimental, en el Laboratorio de Fisiología de la Dra. López Marmolejo, mi mamá, médica deportologa, con ayuda de su auxiliar, en la Universidad Libre de Cali. Realicé este performance junto con Luis Felipe Vélez, quien es mi pareja sentimental, sometiéndonos a diferentes exámenes científicos que ponían a prueba la sentencia “dos corazones que laten como uno”. En el vídeo logra notarse cómo la máquina comienza a emitir unos sonidos indicando que algo extraño está ocurriendo, confundida de los datos que registra. La intención con esta obra es precisamente, confrontar la verdad del arte con la verdad de la ciencia.
Taking an experimental electrocardiogram in the Physiology Laboratory of Dr. López Marmolejo, my mother, a sports doctor, with the help of her assistant, at the Libre University of Cali. I did this performance together with Luis Felipe Vélez, who is my sentimental partner, submitting us to different scientific tests that put the sentence “two hearts that beat as one” to the test. In the video it is possible to notice how the machine begins to emit sounds indicating that something strange is happening, confused by the data it registers. The intention with this work is precisely to confront the truth of art with the truth of science.
